About the game
The friendly asking game against one to three computer players. Ask someone for a rank you hold; if they have it they must hand it over, if not you hear "Go fish!" and draw from the pond. Four of a kind make a book. Listen to what the others ask for: whoever collects the most books wins.
Rules
A standard deck of 52 cards. With two or three players everybody gets seven cards, with four players five. The rest lies face down in the middle as the pond. You start.
On your turn, ask one other player for a rank you hold at least one card of yourself ("Anna, any sevens?"). If they have any, they must hand over all of them, and you ask again, the same player or another.
If they have none, they say "Go fish!" and you draw the top card of the pond. If it is the rank you asked for, you show it and ask again; otherwise the turn passes to the next player.
As soon as you hold all four cards of a rank, you lay them down as a book. A player whose hand runs empty draws a card from the pond; when the pond is empty too, they sit out.
The game ends when all thirteen books are down. Whoever has the most books wins. Everybody hears every question, so it pays to remember who asked for what.
