Pao De Kuai has many local rules; these are the common ones for three players with 16 cards each. The deck has 48 cards: a standard deck without jokers, without the 2 of hearts, diamonds and clubs and without the ace of spades. Cards rank 3 (lowest), 4 … 10, J, Q, K, A, 2 (highest); suits do not count. Whoever holds the 3 of spades leads the first deal and must play it, alone or in a combination. In every deal after that the winner of the last one leads anything.

A play is a single card; a pair; a run of pairs (two or more pairs of consecutive ranks, such as 5-5-6-6); three with two (three of a rank with any two cards); a straight (five or more cards of consecutive ranks, 3 up to A: the 2 is never in a run); an airplane (two or more triples of consecutive ranks, each with any two cards as wings); or a bomb (four of a kind). Three with one, a bare triple, and an airplane with fewer wings may be played only as your last cards.

After the lead, play goes round from you to Anna to Ben. The next player beats the play with the same kind and as many cards and a higher rank (a run by its top card, three with two and an airplane by their triples), or with a bomb: a bomb beats anything but a higher bomb. Whoever can beat the play must (有牌必压): you may pass only when nothing in your hand beats it. When the two others pass in a row, the table is cleared and the last player to play leads anything.

Last card (报单): a player down to one card says so. While the next player in turn holds a single card, a single you play, leading or following, must be the highest card in your hand.

The first player to shed every card wins the deal and takes a point for each card the others still hold. A player who never played a card in the deal is shut out (关门) and pays double. A bomb wins 10 points at once from each other player, whatever happens to it. Points are only points: totals may go below zero.

Play one deal, or a match of 5 or 10 deals: the most points at the end wins, and a tie for the most counts as a win. Two computer players sit at the table, easy, normal or strong, at a speed you can change at any time. There is no undo: it would show how the others answer.

Gespielt wird mit 48 Karten: ein normales Blatt ohne Joker, ohne Herz-, Karo- und Kreuz-2 und ohne Pik-Ass. Die Karten gehen 3 (am niedrigsten), 4 … 10, Bube, Dame, König, Ass, 2 (am höchsten); die Farben zählen nicht. Wer die Pik-3 hält, spielt im ersten Spiel aus und muss sie legen, allein oder in einer Kombination. In jedem weiteren Spiel spielt aus, wer das letzte gewonnen hat, und zwar, was er will.

Gelegt wird eine Einzelkarte; ein Paar; eine Paarstraße (zwei oder mehr Paare mit Werten in Folge, etwa 5-5-6-6); ein Drilling mit zwei (drei gleiche Werte mit zwei beliebigen Karten); eine Straße (fünf oder mehr Karten mit Werten in Folge, 3 bis Ass: Die 2 gehört nie dazu); ein Flugzeug (zwei oder mehr Drillinge mit Werten in Folge, jeder mit zwei beliebigen Karten als Flügel); oder eine Bombe (vier gleiche Werte). Ein Drilling mit einer Karte, ein Drilling allein und ein Flugzeug mit weniger Flügeln dürfen nur als letzte Karten gelegt werden.

Nach dem Ausspielen geht es reihum von dir zu Anna zu Ben. Wer dran ist, überbietet mit derselben Art, gleich vielen Karten und einem höheren Wert (eine Straße nach ihrer höchsten Karte, Drilling mit zwei und Flugzeug nach ihren Drillingen), oder mit einer Bombe: Eine Bombe schlägt alles außer einer höheren Bombe. Wer überbieten kann, muss es (有牌必压): Passen darfst du nur, wenn nichts in deiner Hand es schlägt. Passen die beiden anderen nacheinander, wird der Tisch abgeräumt, und wer zuletzt gelegt hat, spielt aus, was er will.

Letzte Karte (报单): Wer nur noch eine Karte hat, sagt es an. Solange der Nächste in der Reihe nur eine Karte hält, muss eine Einzelkarte, die du legst, ob beim Ausspielen oder Überbieten, die höchste Karte deiner Hand sein.

Wer zuerst alle Karten los ist, gewinnt das Spiel und bekommt für jede Karte, die die anderen noch halten, einen Punkt. Wer im ganzen Spiel keine Karte gelegt hat, ist eingesperrt (关门) und zahlt doppelt. Eine Bombe bringt sofort 10 Punkte von jedem anderen, was auch immer danach mit ihr geschieht. Es geht nur um Punkte: Ein Stand darf unter null fallen.

Gespielt wird ein einzelnes Spiel oder eine Partie über 5 oder 10 Spiele: Wer am Ende die meisten Punkte hat, gewinnt, und Gleichstand an der Spitze zählt als Sieg. Zwei Computergegner sitzen am Tisch, leicht, normal oder stark, in einem Tempo, das sich jederzeit ändern lässt. Zurücknehmen gibt es nicht: Es würde verraten, wie die anderen antworten.

每次出牌可以是单张；对子；连对（两对或更多点数相连的对子，比如 5-5-6-6）；三带二（三张同点数的牌加任意两张）；顺子（五张或更多点数相连的牌，从 3 到 A：2 不能连）；飞机（两个或更多点数相连的三张，每个三张带任意两张作翅膀）；或者炸弹（四张同点数的牌）。三带一、三张不带和翅膀不够的飞机，只能作为最后一手牌打出。

先出之后，依次从你轮到安娜，再到本。下家必须用同样牌型、同样张数、点数更大的牌压过（顺子和连对比最大的那张，三带二和飞机比其中的三张），或者用炸弹：炸弹压过一切，只有更大的炸弹能压过它。有牌必压：只有手里没有能压过的牌时才能不要。另外两人连续不要时，桌面清空，最后出牌的人可以随意先出。

报单：只剩一张牌的玩家要报出来。只要你的下家只剩一张牌，你出单张时，不论是先出还是跟牌，都必须出手里最大的那张。

最先出完所有手牌的玩家赢下这一局，其他人手里每剩一张牌，赢家得 1 分。整局一张牌都没出的玩家被关门，付双倍。每打出一个炸弹，立刻从其他每位玩家那里得 10 分，不管之后怎样。只计分数：总分可以是负数。

可以只玩一局，也可以打 5 局或 10 局：最后分数最高的人获胜，并列最高也算赢。桌上坐着 2 个电脑玩家，有简单、普通、困难三档，速度可以随时调整。没有撤销：撤销会暴露其他人的应对。
